Job Description: American Entertainment Investors Inc. --> Who are we and what we do : Founded in 1996 by Joseph N. Cohen, www.imdb.com/name/nm0169522, AEI counts 3 core activities: 1. Financial Consulting to Production Companies, Studios and Film Industry Investors AEI acts as an advisor on all aspects of finance, distribution, strategic planning and acquisitions. Clients include: Goldman Sachs; The Weinstein Company (Inglorious Basterds and other Tarantino movies, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, etc.); Alcon Entertainment (The Blind Side, The Book of Eli, Dude Where’s my Car, PS I Love You); River Road (Brokeback Mountain, Into the Wild, Fair Game, most Sean Penn films). 2. Film Financing & Packaging of Entertainment Projects AEI is mandated by producers to find financing (equity investors, foreign presales, tax subsidies, etc) and attach talent (directors, writers, creative producers). Current projects are confidential, but past projects have most notably included The Hurt Locker (2010 Academy Award Winner, Best Picture). AEI also hunts and options its own entertainment projects. Projects are then developed and packaged within the company. Ongoing film projects include Camus’ L’étranger and other confidential literary adaptations. 3. New Media Venture Capital AEI advises potential investors on a number of exciting start-up ventures within the realm of entertainment and new media/technology. Mission Ideal candidate is a resourceful, articulate, energetic, curious, and professional multi-tasker with excellent communication and analytical skills, and a desire to learn about the business side of the film industry. This is a small office setting; within which interns are very likely to quickly gain responsibilities and client exposure provided they show they can handle it. Job responsibilities will range from deal support and financial modeling to script coverage, project research, document management, email composition, and anything else that might come up that day (and this is NOT a boring office). Required and Bonus Skills: • Excellent Office proficiency and strong working knowledge of Excel in particular; • Great autonomy and a strong sense of responsibility; • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail; • Previous experience in IB or Consulting a plus.
