Job Description: Universal Music Group is currently seeking a Coordinator for our Compensation and Benefits Department at our Santa Monica CA location. As a member of the Compensation and Benefits Department, provides clerical support to HR staff. Creates compensation and benefits-related reports for HR Management, and participates as an active team member in compensation and benefits-related projects. Manage several Human Resources databases and applications. Assists employees with questions related to vacation balances, benefits, and leaves of absence. Job Functions: 1. Responds to employee issues related to Health and Welfare plan administration. Answers employee calls, researches employee issues with outsourced health and welfare administrator, and recommends appropriate action to HR management. 2. Maintains integrity, accuracy, provides enhancement, promotion and updates for human resources databases/applications. 3. Monitors and reports on Company non-exempt sick time taken. Tracks non-exempt sick time taken, prepares and distributes sick time reports for Human Resources staff and business units. 4. Supports compensation and benefits managers in the preparation of salary and benefits survey responses, and in the analysis of published salary and benefits survey reports. 5. Assists in the annual merit increase and bonus processes. Assists in the preparation of reports to management on UMG’s salary competitiveness and in the preparation of merit increase budget recommendations. Assists in the preparation of merit increase spreadsheets and ensures that completed sheets adhere to budget guidelines. 6. Supports the department’s delivery of benefits programs to UMG staff. Assists in the completion of benefits surveys and in the completion of reports to management on UMG’s benefits competitiveness. Coordinates the resolution of employee questions and concerns. 7. Assists Compensation and Benefits staff in the preparation of complex reports, spreadsheets, and presentations. Assists in the preparation of employee communications related to compensation and benefits. 8. Coordinates UMG’s tuition reimbursement program. Reviews and files reimbursement forms and processes requests for reimbursement. 9. Coordinates all department billing and processes invoices for payment. Tracks payment requests through system. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: 1. Job Knowledge and Skills: A working knowledge of Benefits practices and principals. An advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Technical experience a must. Must possess team and service orientation attitude; critical thinking; systems skills, effective time management and project management; coordination of people and resources with diplomacy; and knowledge of administrative & clerical procedures & systems. • 2. Experience: • Two to four years of benefits and technical experience. 3. Education: • A degree in a related discipline from a four-year college, or equivalent related seminars, classroom training, and experience, a plus.
