Job Description: Universal Music Group is currently seeking a Sr. .NET Web Developer for the Universal City, CA location. - Define, develop and architect solutions related to in-house infrastructure and third-party commerce platform - Manage and lead development of various engineering projects pertaining to core platform development - Provide engineering/development expertise for various other projects/platforms related to distribution of UMG metadata and media assets - Provide technical due dilegence oversight across various online and mobile initiatives - Co-develop additional platform solutions related to various UMG Label needs and priorities - Establish and communicate best practices and serve as primary contact for development projects underway within the corporate group vis-a-vis each Label group - Manage cross-label and cross-department weekly technical meetings as well as associated project roadmaps and schedules Requirements: Ideal candidate must have the following skill set: · Ability to manage complex software development projects and effectively report back to executive team · Experience architecting and defining platform roadmaps · Extensive experience developing web applications on ASP.NET in C# · Extensive experience with Web Services (JSON, XML, SOAP, WCF, REST) · Extensive experience with 3rd party APIs (web service APIs & proprietary .Net APIs) · Strong understanding of Design Patterns & Practices · Strong understanding of OOP · Strong understanding of custom server controls · Experience with CMS and CRM · Visual Studio 2008 / SQL 2005 / .NET 3.5 Preferred: · Experience managing and/or coordinating a diverse team of engineers across various departments · Experience with projects in fast-paced, high traffic environment · Experience with social network syndication and integration · Experience with Subversion (Tortoise SVN & Ankh SVN) · Solid frontend development skills (Javascript, jQuery, Ajax, CSS) · Good understanding of ASP.NET MVC Framework · Agile software development / Extreme Programming methodology · Ability to work under pressure and tight schedules · Experience working within the Entertainment industry; experience with Music Business a plus
