Position: Administrative Assistant
City and State: Santa Monica, CA
Job Description: Universal Music Group is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant for the Santa Monica, CA location. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the Head of Digital Marketing. Candidates must possess the entrepreneurial spirit essential to this aspect of the music business. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with a professional demeanor. Responsibilities include phones, overseeing department budget, preparing and processing expense reports, arranging travel, creating and maintaining artist mailing lists, ordering office supplies, overseeing interns, as well as special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned. In this dynamic, fast-moving role, you will need to apply strong self-organization and management skills and demonstrate pro-active initiation and follow through on a broad range of actions. Attention to detail is vital. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills and is Mac/PC proficient. Interest in Marketing preferred. Enthusiasm for music and all things digital essential! Must be capable of managing several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision. Universal offers competitive compensation and benefits. Job Duties •Maintain department budget and make sure that all invoices are processed •Send ticket solicitation emails for artist shows and distribute tickets accordingly •Manage expense reports and calendar for the Head of Digital Marketing •Coordinate mailing of promotional physical cds and the digital distribution of new releases •Compile analytical information about social networking sites •Be ready and willing to learn anything new that may be asked of you Job Requirements • 4-year degree from an accredited college or university • Excellent follow through and problem solving skills • Ability to anticipate department needs and quickly asses situations • Proactive, self motivated and discreet • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills • Must be PC/MAC proficient • Calm, professional demeanor • Interest in New Media, digital music, and the music industry preferred.
